The projection walls in the far wing sit dead and the exhibit speakers have gone quiet. In the atrium, noon light drops straight through the skylight and lands as a hard white rectangle on the stone floor. Staff cross the far doorway with hand lights, and past them the street doors stand propped open onto daylight. Inside the rectangle of sun, a figure kneels over two rows of paper clue cards, one row scattered and one arranged in perfect order, squaring the last card against the edge of the light without looking up.
